What is ASNT?
American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) is a technical society for nondestructive testing professionals. It publishes recommended practices and guidelines for the qualification of NDT personnel.

What is ASNT SNT-TC-1A qualification?
It is a validation of proficiency and ability to conduct NDT tests. Under SNT-TC-1A, the employer is responsible for qualifying and certifying their own NDT personnel based on training, examination, and experience requirements. The testing operator performing the particular test examination requires certain type of knowledge. Meeting ASNT SNT-TC-1A training requirements demonstrates that the operator has the specific knowledge and exam results necessary for their employer to issue final certification.

What are different ASNT levels?
Their are total of 3 different levels: Level I, level II and level III. Level I is the lowest qualifiable level and is specified for testing job under supervision by level II personnel. Level II is related to testing and also have authority to sign test reports in order to to verify these report. Level III is the highest qualification level. Level III personnel can recommend qualification and certification of Level I and Level II personnel to the employer. These personnel are also involved in creating standard operating procedures for particular object or task as per the requirements of the job.

Meeting ASNT SNT-TC-1A requirements is necessary for personnel to be qualified for performing NDT tests as well as to train other personnel. It validates the technical knowledge and practical skills of the individual.
